Prerequisites

Before managing player requests, you need:

  • Admin or Owner role in a group
  • Understanding of the player link request system
Admin Request Management

When users discover your group via public match links, they can request to join by linking to an existing player or creating a new profile. As an admin, you review these requests to maintain group integrity.

Review Request Details

Each request contains information to help you decide whether to approve or reject it.

Information Shown for Each Request

  • User name and email of the requester
  • Request type: Link to Existing Player or Create New Player
  • For existing player links: The player they want to link to
  • For new players: Name, jersey number, and position provided
  • Any notes the user included with their request
  • Date and time the request was submitted
3
Approve or Reject

After reviewing the details, approve or reject each request.

Approving a Request

  • Click the Approve button
  • The user is linked to the player (or a new player is created)
  • The user becomes a group Member automatically
  • The user receives a notification
  • They can now register for matches

Rejecting a Request

  • Click the Reject button
  • Optionally provide a reason for rejection
  • The user receives a notification with your reason

After Approval: Next Steps

After approving a request, the user is fully set up. Here is what they can do next.

  1. 1They are added as a group Member
  2. 2Their account is linked to the player profile
  3. 3They can register for matches with registration enabled
  4. 4They appear in the group's member list
  5. 5They can view all group content (teams, matches, stats)

Tip: Promote to Lineup

After a player registers for a match, you can promote their registration directly to the match lineup from the Registration tab.

Best Practices

Respond Quickly

Review requests promptly so players can register for upcoming matches. A delayed response may cause them to miss the game.

Verify Identity

If you are unsure about a request, message the person directly to confirm their identity before approving.

Check for Duplicates

Before approving a Create New Player request, check if the player already exists in your group to avoid duplicates.

Communicate with Your Group

Let existing members know about new players joining so they can welcome them.

What Happens When Approved

When you approve a link request, several things happen automatically:

  1. 1The user is added as a Member of the group
  2. 2Their account is linked to the player (or a new player is created)
  3. 3The user receives a notification that they were approved
  4. 4They can now register for matches and view group content

Create New Player Requests

When a user requests to create a new player, a new player record is created in your group with the details they provided. You can edit this player later to add them to teams or update their information.

Common Issues

Not seeing any requests

  • Make sure you have Admin or Owner role
  • Check the Link Requests tab in group settings
  • Requests only appear when users submit them from public match pages

Approved user cannot register

  • Make sure the match has registration enabled
  • The player must be on one of the match teams
  • Ask the user to refresh their page

Duplicate player after approval

  • You can merge players from the Players page
  • Edit one player and transfer their stats
  • Delete the duplicate player record
