The video shows the original walkthrough. The written steps and new screenshots below cover the current player, analysis progress, event editor, correction modals and approval flow.
Before you start
Have a match saved, its lineups and shirt numbers ready, and permission to edit it. Included reviews and individual purchases depend on your plan and current availability.
Professional reviews are the first rollout
Professional video reviews are available. Automated analysis prepares the footage, a professional reviewer checks the results, and you approve the statistics. We are testing capacity and accuracy through this workflow before enabling self-service video analysis. Self-service analysis is not available yet.
These screenshots show the English interface with example matches. Your team names, videos and review allowance will differ. Select any screenshot to enlarge it.
Start from your match
Open the match you want reviewed and select Request professional review.
The request guides you through footage, match details, a review option, and a final summary. You can save your progress and return later.
Open your match and select Request professional review.
Choose your footage
Upload a recording or choose one already attached to the match. Select the video parts you want reviewed together.
Check the previews and selected duration before continuing. Footage already reserved for another review cannot be selected.
Per recording: up to 4 files, 2 GB per file and 4 GB in total. · 1080p maximum (1920×1080 or 1080×1920). Export 4K footage at 1080p before uploading.
Add a recording
- Choose your video files here, or drag them into the upload area. The recording name is optional.
Choose which videos to include
- Tick each video you want reviewed together.
- Check the selected duration, then continue to match details.
Confirm colours and lineups
Assign each suggested jersey kit to the correct team. Swap the kits or edit colours manually if needed. If a referee is present, set their colours too.
Review the players and shirt numbers for both teams, edit anything missing, then confirm the lineups. Add optional notes to tell the reviewer about anything unusual in the footage.
Assign the suggested kits
- Select the jersey worn by the home team.
- Select a different jersey for the away team. Use Swap kits if the assignments are reversed.
Check the players and shirt numbers
- Open Review lineups to check the players. Use Edit lineups to make changes.
- Confirm the lineups after checking both teams. You can also add notes for the reviewer.
Choose a review option
Use an included review if one is available, or choose an individual purchase. Check the footage, team details, review option, and estimated turnaround in your summary.
For an individual purchase, complete the secure Paddle checkout. Your request is sent for review only after payment is confirmed.
Closing checkout before paying leaves your request awaiting payment. It has not been sent to a reviewer. You can finish payment later from your saved request.
Choose an available review option
- Use a review included in your plan when your allowance is available.
- Choose Buy this review for a one-off purchase. You will see the price before paying.
Check your request before continuing
- Use the edit links to correct footage or match details.
- For a purchased review, continue to payment and complete checkout.
Track your request
Open Managed Reviews from the sidebar to find your requests. Filter by needs attention, in progress, drafts, or history.
Once an included request is submitted or payment is confirmed, footage preparation begins. Open the request to see analysis progress by video, its current stage, elapsed time and last analysis progress. Status updates automatically every five seconds without reloading the player. The percentage is progress, not an estimated finish time. A professional reviewer checks the results before they are sent for your approval.
Follow your requests in Managed Reviews
- Use the filters to find requests that need attention, drafts, or work in progress.
- When a review is ready, select Review and sign off.
Track the analysis stage and activity for each video
- Check the current stage and last analysis progress for each video.
Inspect the footage and events
Open the ready review. Select an event in the list or a timeline marker: playback pauses three seconds before the event, or at the start of its video part.
Events load automatically. Search or filter by event type, team, player or video part; use the concern and changed-event filters when needed. Event list and Event details are separate panels that scroll independently: More events below and More details below mean you can scroll within that panel. Check From and To, shirt numbers, time, team, outcome and other details. Use slower playback, frame stepping, timeline zoom and Fit to inspect the footage.
Video, timeline and two independently scrolling event panels
- Select a marker or zoom a group of events on the timeline.
- The event list and event details have separate headers and scroll areas.
Edit an event yourself
If you know the correction, select the event and choose the blue Edit event button. It opens the same editor used by the professional reviewer: event type, team and players, event details, then a final summary. Required fields must be completed before continuing or saving. Only fill optional details you can identify from the footage.
Save each edit and check the updated event. Your edits remain unpublished until sign-off. The last-editor tag and Edit history show who changed an event and when; the reviewer can see earlier customer changes too. If you are satisfied, sign off directly. If you need help, report concerns instead, or send concerns alongside your saved edits. Missing events are reported for the reviewer to add.
The shared event editor: team, player and recipient
- Choose the player who performed the action, then a recipient when applicable.
Complete the required event details before continuing
- Required details depend on the event type. This pass needs an outcome and body part.
Save and send concerns
To ask the reviewer to fix an existing event, select it and choose the amber Report a problem button. In the modal, choose the problem, add any suggested correction and explain what needs checking. For a missing event, pause the right video part at the action, select Missing event, check the local time and choose its type. Use General concern for feedback about the review as a whole. Scroll within the modal to reach the explanation and Save concern.
Save each concern and wait for Saved. Saved concerns are drafts, not messages sent to the reviewer. Open Concerns, select Send concerns and confirm the saved batch. Saved event edits accompany the report. Sign-off pauses while concerns are unsent or corrections are in progress. Discard unsaved form changes if you decide not to report them.
Report a problem: suggestions, explanation and Save concern
- Choose the problem and add any suggested correction.
- Explain what needs checking, then save the concern.
Report a missing event at the selected video time
- Check the video part and its local time before saving.
Two saved concerns in a draft, ready to send
- Saved means the draft was acknowledged; it has not been sent.
- Send the saved concerns, then confirm their count.
Check the returned revision
Read each reviewer response and its result: corrected, added, removed or no change. Follow available event links and inspect the revised footage. A response does not mean you have approved the analysis.
Use Changed events only to find revised actions, and Edit history to see customer and reviewer changes. On the latest returned revision, you can edit remaining details yourself when available or save and send another round of concerns. Where available, withdrawing a sent batch retains its history. Check the returned analysis again before approving it.
Returned revision with reviewer responses and event links
- Read the reviewer response and its correction result.
- Open the delivered event to inspect the revised analysis.
Review and sign off
When you are satisfied with the latest revision, your edits and all responses, select Review and sign off in the top bar. The modal previews how many statistics will be created, reused or updated. Saved edits are published only when you sign off. Acknowledge updates to linked recorded events if asked.
If prompted, choose whether reviewed goals should be added to the score or are already included. Check the resulting score to avoid counting goals twice. Tick the approval checkbox, then select Sign off and create statistics. Each revision needs fresh approval. Wait for Statistics published before leaving.
Corrections do not create another purchase or consume another included review. Your final approval creates the reviewed statistics.
Fresh approval with an unchecked confirmation and disabled submit
- Review the latest analysis, then tick a fresh approval.
- Sign off to create statistics only when you are satisfied.
After your statistics are published
A completed review lets you watch the footage and inspect approved events. Edit and report actions are hidden in the normal completed view. To change published events directly, open the match details page and select Edit Stats.
If Make corrections is available, select it to explicitly reopen the correction workflow. Choose Edit events myself or Ask the reviewer for changes. Changes made through this workflow stay unpublished until a new sign-off; the existing statistics remain unchanged in the meantime. Exit corrections returns to the completed view.

Common questions
What if analysis is slow, fails or needs to be cancelled?
Check the current stage and Last analysis progress, not only the percentage. Some stages take longer, and Last status update does not necessarily mean new analysis progress. If the request shows Analysis needs attention or stops progressing, contact support with the request details. Your footage and request remain saved after an analysis failure. A review manager can retry failed analysis, switch to manual review or cancel active analysis; these are staff actions. You do not need to upload the same footage again just because analysis failed.
Why can I not edit an event?
Use the latest review and make sure you have permission to edit the match. Editing may be unavailable while corrections are with the reviewer or while the review is being prepared. Completed reviews are read-only until you choose Make corrections, when offered; published stats can also be edited through Edit Stats on match details. Follow the message shown on the page, or contact support if you expected access.
Can reviewers create events by speaking?
The professional reviewer workspace supports one-off dictation while paused and continuous commentary during playback. Speech creates proposed events for the reviewer to check and complete in the event editor; required fields and approval still apply. Voice dictation is a staff tool. Customers use Edit event or report concerns in their review workspace.
Why are no review options available?
Your included reviews may be used up, and individual purchases may be unavailable for your account. Your draft stays saved. Check your allowance and its reset date, or contact support if you expected to be able to purchase.
Why is a video unavailable even though I have not paid?
An awaiting-payment request reserves its selected footage. Open that request to finish payment, or cancel the unpaid request to release the videos for a different request.
What if payment confirmation takes longer?
After checkout, Balla Stats verifies the payment before sending the request. Do not pay again while it checks. Use Check payment status if confirmation is delayed, or return to the saved request later. Contact support if it remains unresolved.
